I like your Parisian Apple Tartlet! The apple looks really tasty!
I had the same experience with my first try! My puff pastry was too warm (so no puffiness) and the butter/brown sugar melted and burned all over the place. The next time I tried it, I made sure the puff pastry was cold and it puffed up nicely!
